Former President Jonathan's Chief Security Officer Obuah Dies Of Heart Attack In Abuja | TheCable

Godwin Obuah, former chief security officer to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, is dead. A source disclosed this to TheCable, saying he died at the National Hospital, Abuja, after suffering “massive heart attack”. The Department of State Services (DSS) had arrested Obuah two months after his principal left power. He was detained at the headquarters of the agency. To protest his detention, Obuah embarked on hunger strike and fell ill after he was released.

Abuja airport to be reopened today

Saleh Dunoma, managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), says the runway of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, would be ready by April 17, two days ahead of the deadline. He gave the assurance in a statement signed by Ariyo Akinfenwa, media consultant to the minister of state for aviation. “We will be ready April 17 but we are leaving the remaining two days for Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA),” the statement read. “We have written to them and they will come by today (Sunday) to do the preliminary inspection. “They have to certify the airport that what we have done is in accordance with their standards. “If there is any observation as a result of the inspection, we will now make sure we carry out corrections.” He maintained that with the work done, the April 19 deadline for the reopening of the airport is no longer in doubt.
